Job Purpose

Provide professional support and maintenance of planning and performance systems to maintain and promote their accuracy, completeness and integrity

Key Accountabilities
Maintain and update reference data for planning and performance systems to preserve and promote their accuracy, completeness and integrity
Manage the creation, transfer and validation of data to and between our Rail clients systems and external systems
Assist the implementation of systems development by conducting user acceptance testing
Assist in the provision of user support to users of the planning systems and any new systems required for use by system users
Investigate faults reported by users registered through the Information Management fault reporting system, applying a priority to each and tracking that corrective action has been taken, liaising with Information Management and software suppliers as necessary
Monitor performance and availability of planning and performance systems on behalf of business users
Provide system administration with regard to access and security
Support the efficient integration of planning and performance tools, systems and processes
Assist in the identification and implementation of quality and efficiency improvement initiatives
Undertake the role in a way that is consistent with and reinforces Network Rail's values

Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications

Essential
* Good analytical skills in a technical or systems related environment
* Educated to A level standard in a numerate subject-
* High level of computer literacy including ability to query and manipulate data
* Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within the rail industry

Desirable
* Knowledge and understanding of planning and performance systems
* Knowledge of Railway geography
* Knowledge of database systems
