Electrical DesignerCCFE is one of the world's leading fusion research laboratories. The scientists and engineers are working with partners around the globe to develop fusion as a new source of clean energy for tomorrow's power stations.
Working in partnership with CCFE, we are looking to recruit an Electrical Designer to provide electrical design support for the Mast upgrade
Main responsibilities
* Produce CAD layouts, assemblies, parts and drawings to meet the verbal or written specification from the Responsible Officer / Task Leader and organisational requirements.
* Check drawings and 3D CAD documents.
* Assist during manufacture, testing and the development phases of a project.
Essential aptitudes and experience
* Experience in AutoCAD based CAD modelling and draughting
* Knowledge of manufacturing techniques.
* Ability to specify appropriate materials, manufacturing methods and tolerance requirements.
* Knowledge of the following:-
o Heavy power HV & LV distribution systems
o Control schemes and associated equipment
o Electrical installations and their associated civil requirements
o Electrical calculations for cable sizing, discrimination, fault levels, etc.
o Current legislation and statutory requirements for electrical installations, including the IEE regulations, European and British standards
Desirable aptitudes and experience
* Knowledge of system engineering.
* Experienced with use of a PDM system.
* Knowledge of industry standard quality assurance and control systems
