Assystem are seeking a highly skilled mechanical design engineer to work on a contract basis for our client; a high profile motorsport team. Based in Surrey, the suitable mechanical design engineer will be contracted to design and co-ordinate the manufacture of specialised support and garage equipment for the Race Team.Principle Duties:
Design parts in Catia V5 and VPM. Support Anthony Hayes as required on:
-Design of race car set-up tools, pit equipment and specialised garage equipment
-Ordering of materials and parts for manufacture
-Chase purchase orders and Manufacturing Planning to ensure deadlines are met
-Prioritising and controlling the work flow into the Fabrication Shop
-Keeping stock of materials and supplies for the Fabrication Shop
-Update a weekly job list for the department
-Liaise with the Systems Electrical Team for the electrical integration of pit equipment
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
-Attention to detail is paramount
-Experience and knowledge of CATIA V5
-Good knowledge of materials and manufacturing metals and composite
-University of college degree in engineering discipline is desirable
-Previous Motorsport experience is preferable
