Leading Pharmaceutical client currently have a requirement for an experienced Project Controls Manager. Working on a $300 million re-development project you will be responsible for all projects in the whole site master plan. Running up to 6 projects at any one time you will be reporting directly to the Program Director. We are looking for candidates ideally to be based out in China/Asia Pacific OR have previous experience of working in China.As Project Controls Manager you will be responsible for setting up, monitoring, and appraising the financial and schedule performance of capital projects as part of the Master plan - in accordance with the standardised project management processes and best practices, supporting the programme director in setting up the program infrastructure for all projects.
Focus will be looking for early warning input to the programme director and ensuring that necessary corrective actions are taken
Responsibilities:
- Support the Program Director in setting up and leading the Shanghai Program Management Office
- Execute the Project Controls Process on Shanghai Capital Projects as per Engineering Manual
- Ensure that the Project Controls Process is carried out in accordance with the Project Controls Procedure and the Project Controls Plan
- Manage the interface for Project Controls activities to all required Pharma Departments (for example Engineering, Finance, Procurement) and to the Architect/Engineers and Construction Contractors
- Constructively challenge project managers regarding cost, schedule and quality
- Continuously monitor the practicability and the benefit of the Project Controls process and tools included in the Project Controls Procedure Toolbox and suggest improvements
Requirements:
-Master Degree or Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Economics/Business Administration with minimum 10 years professional experience in the area of project management or controlling and minimum 3 years Pharmaceutical Client experience
-Project Controls Management and Program Management Office lead of a $200-$ 400 million USD project/ program and teams of more than 5 people
-Certificate in Project Management and/or Controlling or Chinese experience is an asset
-Outstanding international, cross-functional leadership experience and exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills
-Strong leader, motivating team player, drives results, excellent communication skills and self-starter which requires minimal supervision
-Willingness to constructively challenge project managers regarding cost, schedule and quality and ability to get buy-in and commitment from both internal and external stakeholders
-Knowledge of SAP R/3 and excellent command of English - Chinese is an asset
