The client is a leading European energy provider who develops, constructs and maintains offshore wind parks. The Project Manager will play a key role in tackling the range of exciting and interesting engineering and commercial challenges unique to offshore wind farms; and will focus on Offshore Foundations.

* Accept day to day accountability for management of high value contracts or groups of contracts

* Accept day to day accountability for management of a wide range of risks: health & safety, programme, cost, quality and compliance with specification across either a group of or a single contract as part of a multi-contract concept

* Lead Foundation Package team


The Project Manager (Offshore Foundation) will initially be involved in the strategic planning and preparation for the FEED and tender phase of the Wind Farm Project. Leading on after consent through to the fabrication and installation of the foundations.

Principal Accountabilities:

* Support the development of the project during all phases of the foundation package by providing leadership and expertise

* Establishment of agreed contracting and procurement strategies

* Development of technical specifications in accordance with the above strategies

* Managing a contract or set of contracts covering; design, manufacturing, Installation and commissioning; and negotiation of contracts for the fabrication and installation of the foundations for the wind farm

* Managing the technical aspects of the contract and ensuring the designs comply with the specification

* Management of a team containing specialists in Procurement, Legal, Engineering, Commercial Management, Operations, Development, Quality Assurance, Cost Management, Planning and Offshore Construction with specific responsibilities for individual sections of a contract or set of contracts

* Ensuring adequate auditing of the technical specification during design, manufacturing, installation and commissioning to ensure compliance by the contractor

* Management of a contract or set of contracts to meet the project schedule, including preparation of progress and forecast reports and management plans

* Development of risk management plans for a contract or set of contracts as part of an overall project risk management strategy


Knowledge/Skills:

* Project Management professional, ideally with qualifications and membership of an applicable association

* Significant and in-depth experience of Project Management in either the Offshore Wind Energy industry

* Demonstrable competency in leading and/or working within multi-cultural teams

* Demonstrable, in-depth level of competency in contract management, claims management, negotiation techniques and dispute resolution methodologies; and in managing large scale construction projects

* Demonstrable, high level of competency in Structural/Civil engineering discipline associated with offshore wind construction projects; and in commercial and time related cost/benefit analysis and applicable tools

* Good knowledge of current UK health, safety and environmental legislation, particularly Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2007

* Ability to identify a problem or conflict, identify potential solutions and analyse the solutions leading to a recommendation for the optimum solution
