Description
Freelance CIVILS Intermediate / Project Quantity Surveyor required for a minimum of 6 month contract in South Essex. Immediate start; per day.The role is to work on a Civil Engineering project. Working within a commercial team and reporting into a site based Commercial Manager, it will be to manage and control the commercial performance measurements of various Civils packages, such as deep drainage, pavement, groundworks and ducting.
Our client is a large Civil Engineering main contractor.
The ideal Quantity Surveyor candidate will be able to work with minimal supervision and have a track record of working within the Civil Engineering sector:
- Maintaining key relationships with supply chain, consultants and clients
- Placement of subcontract orders, procurement schedules
- Accurately value and issue main contract valuation and subcontract certificates
- Ensuring payments are received on the main contract on the due date, completion of monthly cost / value reports.
- Agreement of main contract and subcontract final accounts in the required time scales.
- Ensure all risk and opportunities on the project are identified early, managed and minimised
-Preparation of all contractual notices and liaising with the site team and encouragement of team working ethics.
Background/Experience:
- Degree qualified (preferably in Quantity Surveying) or at least 5 years experience working as Quantity Surveyor in Civil Engineering.
