DATS have an excellent opportunity to join the existing team of a large oil & gas company working on engineering projects in Aberdeen on a staff/contract basis.

Duties
* Coaching, supporting and developing control and instrumentation engineers and draughtspersons to achieve their career potential.
* Carrying out control and instrumentation system design activities.
* Carrying out control and instrumentation system troubleshooting activities.
* Liaising and co-ordinating with other discipline groups to ensure deliverables are produced to meet deadlines and within budget constraints.
* Producing and reviewing documents, study reports and design calculations and ensuring conformance to engineering quality and competence and project management system.
* Assisting with the management of discipline resources, including input to manpower plans.
* Ensuring compliance of all activities with the company's Health, Safety Environmental and Quality policies

Background & Experience
* Candidates should be in possession of a relevant degree (or equivalent)
* Chartered Engineer preferred. Engineers who have not achieved chartered status but who have demonstrated knowledge and ability to work at this level over an extended period may be considered
* Thorough knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of control and instrumentation design and analysis
* Thorough knowledge and understanding of offshore and onshore control and instrumentation systems and legislative requirements
* Familiar with software used for control and instrumentation system design and analysis
* In possession of current offshore certification
* Significant experience gained within a similar role in the North Sea offshore oil and gas industry, working with an engineering contractor or operator
* Experience in directing and coordinating teams of instrument engineers and designers, and monitoring their work
* Excellent supervisory, leadership and organisational skills
* Good communicator with good interpersonal skills.
