My client, a Public Sector organisation, based in South Yorkshire, is looking for a Category Manager with experience of managing EU tenders/medical consumables, for a 12 month assignment.

The right candidate will take responsibility for negotiating high-value tenders and contracts for goods and services, achieving the most economically advantageous outcomes, develop strategies to meet the procurement needs of specialist medical categories.

Your role within the department will be to provide procurement and supply chain services to a broad range of departments and to deliver measurable savings from revenue expenditure to support my clients Cost Improvement Programme.

Other duties and responsibilities include;

- Development and implementation of Supplies strategy.
- Delivering against agreed annual cost reduction targets.
- Establish service quality standards and ensure the effective monitoring of contract performance.
- Conduct formal high-value tenders in line with EU Legislation.
