GEO Support Specialist wanted for our end client in the Hague!

A good understanding of the Sub-surface area is required!
GeoSigns is our client's own subsurface interpretation and visualization software and collects the functionality of several applications in a single Subsurface Interpretation Workspace. These applications are: nDI, SAVIOR/IQI, IIW/Imagine, PPP, BPA-Cauldron, and Gems/FT.
We're looking for a candidate to strengthen the GeoSigns service team (part of Technical Landscape Services) covering operational support, service improvements and technical project lead related activities. Knowledge of the GeoSigns applications is not a mandatory requirement though exposure would be a big plus!
Main activities:
- Provide operational support, with focus on day to day incident management on performance, recovery and interruptions related to GeoSigns related Infrastructure
- Act as interface between the GeoSigns Service team, Application Development teams, 1st line support and the various Infrastructure support groups providing operating system support and storage/network.
- End-to-end monitoring and problem management across all technical areas
- Work very closely with the key stakeholders to provide guidance in the effective GeoSigns systems, products and services.
- Application access, recovery & tuning, storage monitoring
- Document, maintain and improve service performance metrics
Participate in global pro-active GeoSigns service enhancements:
- Plan and participate in global GeoSigns ever greening activities (new releases, security patches, application upgrades)
- On boarding (technical, support, finance) of new functionality into the service.
- Deployment of GeoSigns services to new locations around the globe liaising with hardware, storage & operating system component infrastructure providers and customers, SLA.
- Translating customer requirements in infrastructure design and managing component infrastructure providers
Participate in new GeoSigns deployments and introduction of new technologies:
- Contribute to successful project delivery within agreed time and budget
- Ensure appropriate transition from project to support.
Must have:
- Strong relationship with the Oil and Gas industry. A good understanding of the Sub-surface area is required.
- Technically excellent covering a good understanding of Windows/Linux applications, storage, oracle systems and networks including associated troubleshooting methodologies
- Strong understanding of the ITIL service processes and tools with the ability to think from both the customer and service viewpoint
- Strong communication skills - spoken and written. Is able to communicate technical analysis to stakeholders and updates within the team alike.
- Customer focused and pro-active attitude; enjoy customer facing, taking end-to-end responsibility.
- Be able to work with various specialized multinational support teams to bring complex requests or problems to timely resolution.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both spoken and written.
- Highly motivated with good organization, communication, and team working skills.
- Demonstrates ability to handle many tasks concurrently including negotiation skills available to work through conflicting deadlines to reach agreement with clients in an amenable manner.
Nice-to-have/preferred:
- HP RGS or Thin Client exposure
- Project management experience.
- Experience participating in a virtual team of people delivering global services/projects
- Experience in multinational/multicultural enterprise.
The successful candidates might be required to participate in an on-call rota and/or perform out of hours work. Compensation will be as per local norms.
