Description
My client, a top financial firm inChicagois looking to bring a VP trade support manager into their group to head up a fast growing support team. This person should be hands on but have high level management experience, working with at least 10 plus employees and potential international management experience, as well.Role Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of 8-10 support engineers and potential overseas management of 10-15 support engineers
- Building successful relationships with senior business partners, and taking full responsibility for the quality of service provided by their team to the desk
- Driving the fix of major technology incidents affecting their area of responsibility and driving actions to minimize the risk of future occurrence
- Maintaining partnerships with members of the development community, infrastructure partners, and global peers and staff
- The ability to rationalize the impact of multiple concurrent issues/requests/projects and distribute work accordingly their staff members
- Ensuring team members are disciplined in meeting their effort tracking, timekeeping, and compliance training responsibilities
- An intuitive problem solving ability which leads to solution alternatives that reflect the lead's diverse foundation of knowledge, skills and experiences
- The confidence, focus, and adaptable communication style required to effectively coordinate the resolution of high-impact technology incidents
- Enforcement of change management policies to minimize the risk of instability presented by technical changes
Technical Skills
(Still very hands on)
- SQL (Intermediate level: multi-table joins, grouping results, etc...)
- Operating systems: Solaris, Linux, Windows
- Scripting languages: Python, Unix Shell, Perl
Other skills
- Product knowledge - Fixed Income, Foreign Exchange (FX), Currencies, Commodities, Credit, Mortgage-backed Securities, Interest Rate Derivatives, Market data distribution, Risk delivery
- Electronic trading and exchange connectivity
- Proven management experience at a high level managing 10+ employees and overseas management
- Proven high level director or international communication skills
