Title: Category Buyer (Ariba, E-procurement)

Duration: 3 months

*An excellent opportunity for a Category Buyer (Ariba, E-procurement) to join a large Insurance company based in their prestigious York offices.
*Category Buyer (Ariba, E-procurement) will be supporting one of the Senior Category Managers for consultancy throughout the role.
Role overview:
*Dealing with small-value contracts & NDAs
*Working a lot inside Ariba by undertaking some of the "Procurement admin" such as filling-in governance documents and ensuring that processes are abided by
*Communicate with the Business on contracts that are due to expire
*Undertake some data analysis that has to be Customer- or delivery-orientated, ie analysis that has a direction and allows decision to be made from it

Technical tasks/skills:
*Basic experience of E-procurement tools (Ariba preferred)
*Basic experience of contract law
*Able to translate a "wooly" and unclear spec into articulated commercially-viable business requirements
*Project management
Soft skills:
*Confident and clear verbal and written communicator
*Ability to create Management Information reports that "tell the story"
*Comfortable with uncertainty and ever-changing unknowns
*Genuinely eager to learn off and from the job to catch-up on Professional Services within Financial Services
MS Office Systems:
*Conversant with MS Excel
*Use of MS PowerPoint presentations
