Interim Finance Director

Glasgow

Interim appointment 6 month initially

c. £100K pro rata

Our client is a high profile public body undertaking a major transformation change agenda and reorganisation. They urgently wish to recruit a talented Finance Director for an initial 6 month assignment with the potential for a longer or permanent appointment.

Purpose of Role

  • To participate as a member of the Interim Executive team with the responsibility for the management, development and delivery of financial strategy and planning services to ensure operational excellence is delivered
  • To enhance the strategic and operational management of the organisation and advance the delivery of the organisations strategic plan
  • To maintain and develop key internal and external stakeholder relationships
  • Set the financial strategy for the organisation
  • Ensure key timelines, priorities and budgets that underpin the organisations overall service delivery is met

You will have the following background:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in relevant business discipline
  • Consultative Committee of Accounting Bodies (CCAB) Qualified Accountant
  • Demonstrable strong leadership skills and ability to adopt a strategic approach to successfully managing the implementation of change with a focus on financial management
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a track record of building strong stakeholder networks
  • Proven experience of effective performance at senior managerial level within a finance environment
  • Proven experience of developing and implementing strategy, plans, programmes and procedures to support organisational delivery
  • Proven experience of effective performance within internal and/or external audit at a managerial level together with an understanding of risk management
  • Track record of managing effective delivery against strategically-linked Finance objectives
  • Comprehensive understanding of business administration including budget management and personnel practice, ensuring these dimensions are Embedded within the decision making process
  • Proven experience of operating within a multi-disciplined, multi-site environment and management of direct reporting staff remotely based

People Management

  • Responsible for the management and development of all Finance and Planning staff
  • Responsibility for other staff through involvement in project

Financial Management

  • Overall responsibility for delivering finance and planning services within the agreed budget
  • Deliver efficiencies within the department that contribute to the overall organisational efficiencies
