Reporting to the Localization Manager, this role will assume responsibility for the language quality of the country site. Job responsibilities will include but are not limited to translating, proofing, and editing translations of new features, promotions, graphics, user interface elements, and other site content; developing and maintaining terminology glossary and language style guide; working with developers, engineers, and project management to ship the clients international sites on time and with high linguistic quality; working with QA to ensure localization issues are addressed before shipping live to site; working with Product Marketing and Content Managers to establish and protect the tone and style of the translations; working with other translators, in-country Marketing, Content specialists and project management to coordinate translation efforts; researching commercially available software and specifying requirements for the development of internal tools to help in the translation process, and contributing to the definition and establishment of the localization process.Occasional weekend work and after hours support is expected. Proven track record of translating for the consumer market
Experience with Idiom WorldServer and Desktop WorkBench a must
Familiarity with translation technologies and localization processes
Working knowledge of HTML and HTML editors
Understanding of XML, XSL, and GMS tools is a plus
Understanding of software development cycles
Ability to work in a multicultural environment
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with other departments and varying levels of management
Ability to function effectively in a fast paced environment and demonstrate flexibility
BA/MA preferred in Translation/Interpretation
