This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic qualified freelance native Portuguese (European) Linguist (Reviewer) based in Madrid, Spain.The suitable candidate must be a native Portuguese (European) speaker with excellent linguistic skills and a very good level of English, as well as having a strong technical background.
This end-client is a young and vibrant multinational company operating at the cutting edge of internet-based IT services and the position would suit an individual who thrives in a fast-moving environment.Desired experience:
- Style Guide Maintenance.
- Glossary/Terminology Maintenance (specific requests for updates where needed).
- Language Quality Ownership / Collaboration with translators (may require monthly or ad-hoc call with the translation vendors).
- Bug fixing (attending to bugs received from internal end-clients employees).
- Collaboration with marketing teams and other local teams (reaching out to the end-client's internal Portuguese (European) team for assistance with product naming, etc.).
Desired skills:
- BA/BS in translation or a related discipline.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a translator/reviewer.
- Fields of experience: IT, software localization, online advertising, multimedia, social media and marketing.
- Detail-oriented, quality-focused, flexible and proactive.
- Ability to creatively adapt materials to meet the needs of local users.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Experience as an in-house translator with an IT company preferred.
- Knowledge of CAT tools, Idiom preferred.
