Description
The Safety Coordinator will guide the implementation of the contractor safety program, and continuously improve contractor safety compliance and performance during construction and maintenance projects.Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation of contractor safety program by construction management firms, maintenance contractors and their subcontractors.
- Serve as contractor safety liaison between project managers/field coordinators and construction managers/safety professionals.
- Conduct safety training sessions and monthly contractor safety meetings.
- Conduct construction field inspections, report observations and support corrective actions as appropriate.
- Prepare, review and approve job hazard analyses.
- Provide contractor safety technical support to address issues/concerns in the field.
- Review contractor incident investigations, participate as appropriate and respond to trends.
- Evaluate contractor compliance with regulations and contractor safety program and recommend/implement corrective actions as appropriate.
- Minimum of five to seven years experience in construction safety.
- 30 hour OSHA course in construction safety and health.
- Knowledge of construction safety regulations and good practices.
- Knowledge of construction trade craft.
- Experience implementing a contractor safety program at a pharmaceutical facility.
- Independent use of Microsoft Office products, SharePoint and incident management databases.
- Proven interpersonal, communication and influencing skills.
