We are an award-winning digital studio that designs and builds custom software for our clients. We work with marquee Canadian and US clients, including Rogers Communications, Manulife, John Hancock, and HarperCollins, helping to deliver mass marketing campaigns, complex software platforms, and dynamic web and mobile apps.

The Gig:

We are currently looking for a Software Developer to join our team on a short-term 1-3 month freelance gig with potential for full-time. You will be responsible for:

  • Designing and developing new web-based software for our key client
  • Maintaining and evolving what has already been built and extending and refining it
  • Working rapidly from minimal specification and articulating those requirements to other developers and clients

Experience required:

  • Most important: You can communicate clearly and you are intuitive. You get things done!
  • 5+ years experience in software development, preferably at a small start-up or other bootstrapped environment where you wore multiple hats
  • Building web-based software using MVC frameworks
  • Advanced knowledge of Ruby on Rails
  • Nice to have: knowledge of Python, PHP, even Java
  • Building RESTful APIs
  • Strong MySQL chops; NoSQL (e.g. Mongo) knowledge is also appreciated
  • Working with Amazon AWS, Heroku, or other cloud services
  • You get git
  • Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly. THIS IS KEY!
