Description
Main Responsibilities:- Maintenance and enhancement of the application on the JAVA platform.
- Responsible for analysis, design, development, testing, implementation and support.
- Develop cross platform integration capabilities with other applications.
- Work closely with colleagues in other development and support teams.
- Be able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Provide high integrity estimates for development work and deliver in-line with commitments.
- Involvement in the configuration and implementation of applications.
- Input into improving practices and procedures
- Responsible for the continuous improvement of the development and test environments by identifying the appropriate tool sets
Must have prior experience in the following:
- Strong Core Java including Concurrency + Networking
- Sound multi-tier, multi-threaded, real time messaging and application architecture and development using JAVA technology.
- Object oriented design and methodologies.
- Solid RDBMS/Sql experience
- Tomcat, Spring MVC, J2EE (Servlet, Applet, JSP) , HTML, Javascript
Desirables:
- Swing
- Ajax, jQuery, Push Technologies, Web Services.
- Enterprisearchitectural models including familiarity and application of patterns.
- Experience of developing software for the mobile platform.
- Experience of Eclipse, Maven, Jenkins or similar tools/environments.
- JMeter or other performance analysis tools.
- Experience or knowledge of Agile development methodologies such as Scrum
