Major HealthCare Provider's Learning Solutions Team has an immediate part time contract position open for a Sr. Instructional Designer with E-learning and instructor-led training experience. In this role you will consult on the appropriate learning solution, conducts needs analysis, develop the support and evaluation plan, and design Web-based training, instructor-led training (virtual and classroom), and performance support systems such as online help for mid to large scale national projects. You will be responsible for managing the schedule and budget for your projects.

Responsibilities:
Provide learning and training strategy consulting.
Assess target audience's learning needs. Identify performance gaps and develop plans for the learning solution, post-training support, and business outcome evaluation.
Design and write large, complex interactive training for national clients in a creative, team-oriented environment
Develop performance support systems, including online help
Develop learning objectives and assessments
Develop WBT storyboard/script with text, voice, sound, graphics, and descriptions and instructions for production team
Design and develop classroom or virtual training instruction, including:
o Write participant and leader guides
o Design interactive exercises
o Design follow-up coaching and support materials
Develop and manage the project schedule
Manage the review and revision cycles
Report on task and deliverable completions at regular intervals
QA testing of produced content
Attend team meetings; track decision and action items that emerge from discussions
Help ensure consistency with established course design strategy
Conduct post instruction outcome evaluations measuring effectiveness of training programs based on Kirkpatrick's levels of evaluation and/or "The Six Disciplines of Breakthrough Learning".
Six or more years of experience with instructional design for web and instructor-led training development required. Examples of work will be required in interview process.
Specific tools requested: Word, Excel, online help authoring systems (RoboHelp or Madcap Flare), PowerPoint

Scope of the project:
The instructional design team works on as many as 50 different projects. Typically, a designer will work on a project for 2 - 3 months before switching projects. The projects include (but are not limited to) Peoplesoft, Remedy, internal systems.

A passion for instructional development. Candidates must love learning special features of a system and have the ability to describe and instruct others.

Educational Requirements (what is the minimum education required for this position?):
BA or BS
Experience Requirements: At least 5 years experience.

Hours and days: Monday - Friday, 8 - 5. Candidates must be flexible with their hours. This will not always be a 40 hour work week. There will be times when there are less than 40 hours per week. Candidates who are unable to commit to less than 40 hours per week should not be submitted for this requisition.

Work Environment: Typical office with business casual dress. Team environment.
