Description
Company confidential, eh? Don't worry, the company matters less than the team we're building. While the company behind our (currently) primary app is located in Rhode Island with actual employees, we -- the product dev team -- are made up of independents who have been bonded together since 2006 by a dedication to making great things. (This is among several ads posted here, so you may have read this brilliant paragraph before.)
That primary app I mentioned? Ours is a web app that began its life during the earliest days of Ruby on Rails and has evolved with the framework (and other web technologies) and with the scale of its own user base -- but one that owes its existence to our dogged determination to serve those users by building something that actually works for them.
We have what is often an unwilling, unskilled population of users who would rather be doing something else than using an app of any kind. Our objective is to make it easy for them to do the right thing -- to give them what they need to know, when they need to know it, so that they can make the best decisions while taking the best actions.
Instead of numbing your brain with a list of "required" and "nice-to-have" technical skills and experience, what's most important to us is that you have both the skill and the will to be a part of a team that's committed to making truly usable and effective products. That you're a front-end developer or a back-end developer matters less than how well we work together toward that magic end of greatness.
Next, it's up to you to take action by contacting us. Share boring-but-important things like your availability and billing rate, but also share how you like to work, what you've worked on -- including running apps and/or repos on github, for example -- and with whom (or at least in what sorts of team environments).
