Description
The client is a renewable energy organisation, who have a need for a Wind Turbine Package Manager. This Offshore Wind Farm is located off the Southern British coast. It is proposed to have around 100 wind turbine generators (WTG) that will be connected to an offshore substation platform(s) (OSP) by buried subsea inter array cables. Presently in the FEED and Tender phase. The team is increasing to meet the requirements of the project and is looking for outstanding and experienced individuals.Reporting to the Wind Turbine Project Manager, the Package Manager shall have the capability and experience to deliver a technical & commercial solution for the Wind Farm.
Principal Accountabilities:
The role will be initially involved in the technical clarifications, due diligence, evaluation and negotiations with the turbine tenderers.
Providing leadership to the multidisciplinary wind turbine package team, you will have day to day accountability for management of a wide range of risks:
- Health & safety
- Programme
- Cost
- Quality and compliance with the specifications
You will be responsible for the delivery of the wind turbine, supply and installation. The role requires a hands on approach to management and will be expected to work closely with other disciplined project/package teams within the project.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience in similar role, with particular emphasis on offshore WTG supply and installation
- In-depth level of competency in project management
- Significant and demonstrable leadership skills in managing and delivering similar packages
- Offshore wind experience with a strong level of competency in contract management, claims management, negotiation techniques and dispute resolution methodologies
- High regard and good knowledge of current UK health, safety and environmental legislation, particularly the application of the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2007
- Highly motivated individual with a pro-active attitude ensuring adequate interfaces, controls and communication are established and maintained in all aspects of project management.
