My client a leading company within the financial services industry is looking for an Applications Support officer to join their team on a full time permanent basis. The purpose of this role is to support, design and enhance current internal systems provided by various vendors. As a member of a small IT team general IT support activities are a requirement.
Responsibilities of the role:
- Ensure in-house operated databases and applications are maintained and enhanced in line with the my clients change control policy
- Undertake database and application administration support services for my clients business applications
- Provide support and maintain databases and applications, the Servers they are hosted on, including optimization, backup and recovery
- Determine customer needs and produce project scope documentation
- Implement or participate in testing, change management and training plans to ensure the quality of projects and their smooth execution
- Assist with maintenance and enhancement of internal IT systems and documentation
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- RDBMS experience, eg database tuning and query optimisation within MS SQL
- MS Access
- General development skills eg Visual Basic, .net, Java
- Understanding of Superannuation industry
- Administration of Windows Servers and Linux environments
- Excellent communication skills
- Team player
- Ability to operate in a small team environment
- Good technical documentation skills
- Willingness to learn
- Ability to provide solution based outcomes
- Attention to detail, ensuring quality outcomes are produced
- Completion or near completion of a tertiary degree with a computing major or relevant industry experience
- ASFA100 (or willingness to acquire)
