Senior Network Engineer PS Core

Description

I am currently looking for a Senior Network Engineer PS Core, for a client in the Hague area, the Netherlands.

Duration: 6 months, with extension possibilities

Overall purpose of position
1. Ensures availability and continuous improvement/quality of services by providing 2nd line operations and maintenance support for the Packet Switched Core network.
2. 2nd line incident management support
3. Implementing changes
4. Perform planned works in the night times (irregular hours once per week or so)
5. Problem management
6. Structural improvements to availability, capacity and performance
7. Supporting new service introduction/projects

Key results/output of Position (main tasks)
1. Responsible for the continuous performance of the ATCA Huawei Packet Switched Core network
2. Register and analyse incidents, co-ordinate and monitor progress, update incident tickets
3. Co-ordinate 2nd/3rd line supplier support
4. Plan, administrate, prepare and execute changes in line with change management process
5. Responsible for problem management and quality improvements
6. Responsible for operational acceptance new systems/applications
7. Advises management in improvement proposals
8. Support and manage improvement projects

Knowledge, experience and expertise (technical skills)
1. Bachelor or Master degree or equivalent level gained by experience, in Information Technology/Electronics/Telecommunications/data communications Engineering
2. Expert knowledge of Mobile PS Core Networks in general.
3. At least 5 years of experience in PS Core Networks support.
4. Expert in Huawei ATCA Mobile Packet Switched Core network (SGSN, GGSN)
