A client I have worked with extensively over the past 12 months require additional design engineers to join them at their offices in Cumbria, Naturally, given their location they are a leading supplier of specialist equipment to the Nuclear Industry (such as mechanical handling solutions / ROV's / Waste encapsulation etc).The initial contract on offer will be for 6 months though most contractors, including those working through myself have been there much longer.
The kind of profile we are looking for is the candidates who can meet most if not all of the following criteria. If this sounds like you, it is an excellent opportunity to join a company that is a genuinely nice place to work (and not many companies can say that, especially for a contractor)
* Experience 3D CAD operator (preferably with Inventor)
* Experience in mechanical design and coordinating equipment layouts
* Experience producing/supervising the production of detail designs
* Some experience producing mechanical calculations / FEA
* Some experience producing mechanical documentation to support designs
* Good communication skills.
* Some experience in research and development of new equipment / machinery
* Design of special purpose machinery / equipment
* Design of mechanical handling equipment.
* Design of Remote handling equipment
