The Client:
Our client is a leading international bank with a large presence here in Australia. They have a large global network but a large IT presence here in Australia with each team accountable for their own stream. Due to an increased workload they now have a requirement for a Storage Administrator.
The Role:
As a part of the Storage team you will be responsible for support of the Storage and Backup infrastructure throughout the APAC region. In this role your core accountabilities will be based around the stability, security and efficiency of the Infrastructure.
Other key duties and responsibilities will involve:
- Provide support to the Backup platforms (hardware & software)
- Ensure the Data Centre is protected from viruses, intrusions and all security vulnerabilities in line with the standards of the bank.
- Assist in the development and implementation of policies
- Working closely with project teams and other key stakeholders within the business
- Regular review and analysis of Server availability and capacity and regular reporting
- Plan, design, sustain and performance tune storage environment across the organisation
Requirements:
Our client is ideally looking for someone with previous experience in Banking or Finance. The successful candidate will also require excellent communication skills as well has strong written and documenting skills. The ability to build and develop relationships will be key in this role also and someone who works well as part of a team is preferred.
Other requirements include:
- Experience working with Symantec Netbackup V6 is essential as well as having experience with both Tape Library and Virtual Tape Library Environments
- Experience with HDS (Hitachi Data Systems) arrays is desirable also.
- Previous experience of Windows Server Administration as well as TCP/IP LAN & WAN.
- A formal qualification is HDS, MS, UNIX or Veritas a distinct advantage also.
