Description
Purpose of the Job- The Quality Engineer has to ensure that project quality requirements are identified, communicated, actioned and met
- The development and maintenance of project specific Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs)
- Compilation of manufacturing records, ensuring completeness and compliance with contract and I&TP requirements
- Supporting Project Manager/Project Engineer in resolution of supplier (including manufacturing units) quality issues and management of technical risk
- Inspection of manufactured parts
- Assist, as necessary, in the supplier qualification (quality & technical) process
Responsibilities:
- The Quality Engineer is responsible for
- Project reviews to identify project quality requirements
- Communication and monitoring of project quality requirements
- Attend project (internal & external) and supplier meetings
- Attend design reviews, risk reviews as required
- Understanding CoPQ events, NCRs and conducting root cause analysis as required.
- Reporting metrics and statistics on quality related issues (such as CoPQ, NCRs)
- Preparation of, and ensuring adherence to, I&TPs including all customer interfaces
- Review of Quality Records for correctness and completeness and preparing End of Manufacturing reports.
- Notification of and participation with customer on audits and inspections in suppliers facilities as required
- Investigate any quality failures (internal/external) and recommend and follow up corrective action
- Feedback supplier quality performance to Thermal Manufacturing Unit Sourcing network
- Performing inspections at Suppliers, both with customers and the client
Experience
- Detailed understanding of manufacturing processes, including NDE, and the ability to carry out inspections of manufactured parts
- Steam Turbine supply chain management
- Quality Management and Improvement tools and techniques
