A Commercial Officer is required to undertake an 11 month contract vacancy based on site in Barrow, Cumbria.

Job Description
*Manage and resolve customer queries and issues in areas of responsibility, escalating significant problems as appropriate.
*Support management of commercial sub-contracts within their responsibility.
*Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships both internally and externally.
*Deliver commercial support and guidance to other functions in particular Supply Chain.
*Manage the Implementation of procedures and controls within areas of responsibility to ensure compliance with commercial policies.
*Develop and adopt clear understandings with suppliers of both technical and commercial issues to ensure that business arrangements minimise risk.
*Propose and review complex terms and conditions to ensure that Business interests are protected.
*Review and approve detailed Agreements including Purchase Orders, Enabling Agreements, Technical Assistance Agreements, Contracts, Sub-Contracts, amendments and Service Level Agreements.
*Understand and negotiate the optimum financial and pricing position of commercial contracts both with our Customer and Suppliers.
*Ability to plan and undertake detailed negotiations.
*Contribute to the professional development of others within the Commercial Function.
*Proactively identify, manage and mitigate commercial risk specifically in Subcontracts.
*Develop and contribute (as appropriate) to processes relating to activities requiring Commercial involvement.
*Configuration, control and administration of all Agreements within areas of responsibility.
*Typically the Post Holder would be a people manager.

The Individual
*Competent in the application of corporate governance principles and processes
*Competent in the various roles required of a Senior Commercial officer preferably with experience of different and varied roles within commercial or other like areas
*Demonstrates team working experience and the ability to negotiate successfully
*Preferably qualified to a degree level or suitable equivalent experience
