SQA Engineer

Description

Primary Function
The Software and Systems Department is seeking a Software Test Engineer to develop system tests, support dry runs, generate automated test scripts, peer review test assests and support test automation system development. Development spheres include software, firmware, and system test automation, software lifecycle management.

Duties and Responsibilities
* Design Test Strategies and Test Procedures to evaluate the behavior of the software/firmware, system as compared to the specified requirements.
* Support system test dry runs
* Support conversion of manual tests into automated test scripts using PHP.
* Support peer reviews of the test assets (test scripts, protocols etc)
* Develop and test new capabilities for test automation system and ensure timely completion in relation to project schedules.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills
* Knowledge of Verification and validation
* Knowledge of manual and automated testing tools for application software, including embedded systems.
* Experience using configuration management, requirements management and issue tracking systems
* Knowledge of HP Quality Center (or other Test Management Systems/Tools)
* Knowledge of Cockpit (or other Requirements Management Tools)
* Knowledge of programming in Scripting Languages (PHP or Python)
* Experience writing automated software Test Scripts for Embedded Systems
* Experience using SQL programming language and SQL Server

Required Skills
* Bachelor's Degree, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field
* Minimum 3 years' experience in software development or software QA
* Minimum 3 years' experience in programming in Scripting languages - preferably PHP or Python
* Minimum 2 years' experience with C# and/or C++ or other Object Oriented languages

Preferred Skills
* Three years' experience in Software/System V&V
* Three years' experience in writing Automated Test Scripts for Embedded Systems
* Experience in the Medical Device industry or other highly regulated environments
