Position: Quantity Surveyor - Water
Location: Peterborough
Rate: £300.00 per day
Contract Duration: 12 - 18 Months
Our client is a leading engineering contractor serving a variety of water-related projects and programs ranging from water supply, treatment and storage to water resources management and coastal restoration, and from design and construction of hydropower and renewable energy facilities to full environmental services.
They are currently seeking a Quantity Surveyor with a broad-ranging background in the Water industry to join our team at Peterborough, working on the Anglian Water framework.
As a Quantity Surveyor you will provide Quantity Surveying services and ensure that all contractual and financial entitlements are fulfilled.
You will report directly to the Commercial Manager and duties/responsibilities of this role will include:
- Assistance to Project Managers on commercial matters
- Assistance in preparation, submission and agreement of interim payment applications to maximise the company's cashflow
- Co-ordination to ensure contractual requirements are compiled with
- General commercial management of sub-contractors
- Accurate and efficient measurement, identification and measurement of variations
- Production and agreement of final accounts and additional cost claims
- Placing sub contact orders and agreement of subcontract final accounts
- Ensuring that income from interim applications is received on time
- Liaison and co-ordination to ensure financial report is timely and accurate
- Preparation of Bills of Quantities, budgets take-offs
- Measure and control key finances
Qualifications:
- Desirable - A knowledge of water/wastewater industry
- Civil or Mechanical Engineering background
- Several years experience
- Knowledge of NEC3 form of contract
- Studying towards membership of an appropriate recognised professional institution
- Educated to B tech - Higher lever (preferably degree level in Quantity Surveying)
