Overview:- Electrical engineer to create and assist the high speed Electrical system design of interconnect products
- Technology research to collect the leading edge active device Technology of semiconductor device suppliers which relates to high speed interconnections
- Directly report to Director of Advanced Development Engineering of Consumer Devices BU
Responsibilities & Qualifications:
Responsibilities
- Participate in interconnect system and active device development projects of company as an electrical system engineer and lead the development of electrical system and the active devices in the project. The projects are for the development of interconnection system for high speed I/O, antenna, protocol converter or product test system.
- Monitor and report the active device trend, i.e. CPU, Application Processor, Memory, Signal Conditioner, Wireless Communication, which will influence the interconnection technology. The monitoring activity includes the attendance to the technical conferences and developer's forums of major semiconductor suppliers which are held around US west coast area and establish the relationship network with the engineers in the suppliers
- Propose interconnect system product concept and the development programs based on the technology roadmap and the latest technology trend
- Review the latest industry standard then extract and forward the development requirements to signal integrity engineers and mechanical development engineers
- Benchmark latest interconnection technologies from the view point of active devices. Propose technology or product benchmarking plan and drive it
- Act as communication window of US west coast customers as the representative of electrical engineering of product
Qualifications
- BS in Electrical Engineeringwith with 12 years related business experience or MS in Electrical Engineering with 10 years related business experience as an electrical system engineer is preferred. MS who is agreesive with less experience can also be considered.
- In-depth engineering knowledge of the industry standards of high speed wired interface especially for its physical and link layer specifications. Ideal candidate will have the understanding of wireless communication standards on top.
- In-depth knowledge of latest semiconductor technology for high speed digital interface circuits and experience of the development. Ideal candidate has the development experience of interconnection system having active devices in it i.e. MHL to HDMI converter, HDMI to Displayport converter, Thunderbold cable assembly, Active Optic Cable, etc.
- The capability to understand the datasheet of active devices and to create the electrical system concept of the interconnect products based on datasheet information interacting with mechanical design engineers
- The skill to prepare the development specification of electrical system to allow development engineers or suppliers can make the detailed design and the development
- A strong background in connectors and cable interconnects is preferable
- Basic understanding of patent documents
- Ideally out of our industry so could know the development pace
- Good communication of spoken and written English
- Good presentation skill
- Attitude to understand and respect different cultures to work as a member of a global team
- A self started. Be inquisitive, interested in driving new technology and has accomplishments
