I have an urgent requirement for an Electrical Design Engineer for a client inWest Yorkshire.

The Company: Family owned company, supplying bespoke machinery worldwide for chemical, pharmaceutical, food (sugar), and research applications.

Academic qualifications: Degree/HND or equivalent

Experience: At least 3-4 years of experience of electrical engineering practice. Including selection of motor drives, control panels, PLC programming. Chemical/pharmaceutical/GAMP (Good Automated Manufacturing Practice) experience would be a bonus.

Skills: IT literate with word processors, spread sheets, 2D CAD (doesn't matter which)

Personal: Enthusiastic, Responsible. Good team player/communicator.

The Role: Complete responsibility for technical aspects of industrial projects from start to finish. Assessment of customer specifications, negotiations during contract placement, outline design of complete electrical drive/control systems, specifications for bought out items, schematic and layout drawings, PLC programming, liaison during manufacture and test, technical oversight of commissioning/troubleshooting (occasionally involving site work), involvement in development of new products.

The role would suit: Somebody who has been working as part of a team on large, complex projects but now wants the challenge and variety of being completely responsible for their own projects with minimal need for supervision. It would be expected to soon lead to qualification as Chartered Engineer. There is opportunity for travel outsideEurope.

The candidate will be expected to produce drawings and also functional design specifications where necessary.
