WestLakes Recruit currently has an opportunity for a Quality Assurance Engineer in the Cumbria region. Our client is a global organisation who work on some of the worlds most prestigious engineering, energy and nuclear projects worldwide.The Risley & West Cumbria region is home to some of the worlds most imposing engineering challenges. As such it is developing some of the most advanced engineering technologies. It provides interesting and highly rewarding opportunities on a day to day basis.
Due to the continued success of their business in these regions they have an opportunity in their Quality department.
A candidate with previous experience in Sellafield and it's Engineering, Electrical and Civil's or Energy projects would be highly regarded.
Key Objectives include:
To ensure Quality Plans and Inspection and Test Plans are prepared and approved for all aspects of
the works where the risk of poor quality could effect the cost or programme.
* To monitor Quality Plans and Inspection & Test Plans to ensure compliance with the agreed
arrangements.
* To carry out audits and surveillances to ensure compliance with the agreed arrangements and to
highlight any potential risks or improvement opportunities.
* To manage to collation and approval of Life Time Records which prove the clients requirements
have been completed to the agreed arrangements.
* To issue and manage Non Conformance Reports & Defect Notes.
* To provide technical support and assistance to projects.
Experience required:
Understanding of the principals of Quality Assurance and Quality Control
* The ability to understand and translate customer requirements for other project members
* The ability to carry out audits and surveillances to a customer agreed standard
* The ability to review and comment of documentation and records from a quality perspective.
* Understanding of a Nuclear Licensed site and how the site license conditions set the processes which intimately are employed on the project.
* IT skills - Word for writing aUdit/surveillance report" Excel for managing registers, Lotus Notes for email and diary communication.
Desired:
* Membership of a professional organisation (Chartered Quality Institute)
* Training specifically aimed at the quality professional. (i.e. Diploma in Quality, Lead Auditors course)
