OUR PROMISE

Self-Managed
We nurture self-managed teams of talented, passionate software craftsmen who inspire each other to create the latest social software for customers we care about, and who trust us to deliver.

Personal Development
We give our people a platform to develop their individual talents into strengths in an environment that expects creativity and is obsessive about innovation. We will support you in your training, skills development and industry certifications.

Innovative
We're lucky: social software, like Social Networking and Microblogging platforms, is where some of the most exciting and engaging software is being developed today, and we help deliver solutions based on the very best innovative thinking about social software to our clients who have some of the most extreme security requirements on the planet.

Community
We play an active role in the open source ecosystem; our developers are committers on leading open source projects, and contributors to many more. We assist our clients to make informed choices about the selection of open source software, and help them to play their part and participate more fully in open source projects.

Flexible
We trust our staff to know where they do their best work. Working at your home office, or in one of our hubs in London’s TechHub @ Google Campus, our newest hub in the middle of Bristol, or in central Reading.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Laziness!
Do you believe in the art of productive laziness? Are you at your most comfortable on the command line?

Communication
Do you have empathy, courtesy and refined communication skills? These strengths will help you to communicate your contrarian views without damaging relationships.

Security focus
Could you act as Surevine’s "conscience" and keep reminding us that Security is central to our Vision and help us make decisions from a security context. Would you actively encourage and help us to improve our security-aware culture, and lead the team through increasingly secure practices?

Unconventional thinker
Could you challenge conventional thinking and received wisdom? An ability to think outside the box would help you to develop, secure and maintain a strong company infrastructure.

Skills & Experience
We are looking for someone who has:
• Experience of working in both security and infrastructure roles
• Experience of vulnerability or penetration testing, particularly of web applications
• A background in programming or engineering
• Experience of working with cloud based hosting services, especially Amazon
• Expert-level knowledge of administering open source applications
• Experience of Relational Database Management Systems (RDMS) e.g. PostgreSQL or proprietary alternatives
• Methodological mindset and logical problem solver
• High energy, positive approach to work
• Great communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ideally, experience of working in an ISO27001 certified organisation
• Ideally, a Computer Science, Engineering or Security degree qualification, a BTEC Higher National Diploma or other vocational equivalent
