Firmware Engineering candidates needed to be an integral part of a hardware design team developing signal systems for digital imaging. Candidates will need to be highly qualified, electronics engineer, you will develop state-of-the-art mixed signal systems for digital imaging. The responsibilities will extend into hardware, FPGA, ASIC and microcontroller design, prototype board bring up, debugging, documentation, and verification testing activities.

Firmware Engineer Responsibilities:

* Design and analysis of firmware for complex programmable devices and systems of devices.
* Design of communication and data transfer sub-systems to imaging industry standards.
* Driving the development of prototypes, performance and verification testing.
* Supporting compliance, regulatory and quality requirements related to design activities.
* Engaging in all phases of new product introduction, including concept, architecture documentation, design, prototype, test, supplier interfaces, and manufacturing introduction.

Firmware Engineer Requirements

The person should meet the following requirements and general characteristics:

* Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering (Master preferred).
* 5-7 years' experience with firmware and analogue circuit design.
* Experience with general digital hardware designs using glue logics and programmable devices like CPLD, FPGA, ASIC and their programming tools, specifically Altera and Xilinx.
* Experience of real-time image processing algorithms, techniques and resource-tight optimisation.
* Working knowledge of the TCP/IP stack.
* Experience of integration with mixed signal electronics, adhering to analogue performance specifications.
* Experience in designing firmware compliant with the regulatory requirements of the ISO and IEC.
* Very good knowledge of RF technology, EMI/EMC requirements and electronic interfaces.
* Hands-on experience in 'board bring up' and debugging using latest state-of-the-art equipment like oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers.
* Strong knowledge in CAD design tools such as Spice, Mentor, etc.
* Strong experience of bringing designs into volume production.
* Experience in performing detailed design analysis and calculations to meet target requirements.
* Proven ability to develop timely and effective solutions for challenging design problems.
* Experience making design trade-offs between functionality, quality and cost.
* Self-starter, energizing, results-oriented and able to multi-task.
