Middle Office Fund Accountant - Hedge Funds- Contract - 6 months - Up to £200 per day
Hudson Banking & Finance are looking for a fund accountant with 2 years plus experience within the financial services ideally within a hedge fund. My client are looking for someone who is looking for their enxt stage in their career.
The Middle Office Accountant is primarily responsible for assisting Asset Managers by providing review and analysis of fund profit and loss accounts and calculating the Net Asset Value (NAV) of funds. S/he is responsible for highlighting potential issues to the Asset Manager and also reconciling/resolving any differences.
Key Responsibilities:
*Review and analyse fund profit and loss accounts on a daily basis and report performance to the Asset Manager
*Calculate the Net Asset Value (NAV) of funds on a daily, weekly and monthly basis and check accrued income and expenses. Provide intra-NAV estimates to the Asset Managers if required
*Liaise with the fund administrator/s to reconcile final fund NAVs
*Review foreign exchange exposures and report to the Asset Managers, highlighting any hedging requirements
*Review reconciliations between custodians, prime brokers and fund management system and arrange investigation and/or correction of breaking items
*Provide ad-hoc reports to the Asset Managers regarding performance and historic trading analysis
Requirements:
*Degree level education in a numerate or financial discipline required
*Excellent quantitative analytical and financial modelling skills required
*Highly proficient in Excel and Bloomberg an advantage, ability in SQL and VBA an advantage
*Able to work under pressure, prioritise own workload and meet tight deadlines
*Excellent communication and co-ordination skills
*Strong team player but also self-directed and able to take initiative
*Experience in fund management, ideally gained within an Investment Bank or Hedge Fund
