Responsibilities
Planning
  • Schedule and facilitate sprint planning meeting(s) prior to the beginning of each sprint in accord with the scrum fundamentals.
  • After Sprint Detail Planning has been completed communicate to the backlog owner the teams committed stories for the upcoming sprint.
  • Support the Backlog Owner and Portfolio Manager in updating monthly the day release roadmap based on the health and priority of the stories on the backlog and planning poker estimates/sizing.
Execution
  • Schedule and facilitate daily stand up meeting at the same time and same location each day in accord with the scrum fundamentals.
  • Represent the team daily at the scrum of scrum's (S2) meeting to report progress against burndown, if deviating from the ideal burndown line then communicate teams plan/commitment to get back to the line, report impediments for escalation, identify risks/concerns to the S3 to help resolve.
  • Shield the team from external interference, facilitate removing impediments that impact the teams ability to meet their commitments.
  • Enable close cooperation across all roles and functions with the goal of removing barriers.
  • Coordinate with the Backlog Owner and Technical Lead in ensuring the team is prepared to do the demo or Sprint Review at the end of each sprint.
  • Manages external vendor deliveries within committed scope of sprint and manages external team deliveries.
Monitoring/Controlling
  • Monitor daily issues impacting the team in VersionOne, if the team is not able to resolve the issue/impediment and needs to be escalated then report it at the Scrum of Scrum's (S2) meeting.
  • Monitor daily the information radiators (VersionOne or white/cork boards, if team is utilizing) and ensure they accurately reflect the current state, including time and status.
  • Report weekly (or as agreed with business sponsor) the status of the projects your scrum team is supporting.
  • Provide the Release Managers with the list of backlog items being released to production with the upcoming sprint.
  • Coordinate as needed with other internal Project Managers and/or external vendor Project Managers the delivery of components.
  • Provide feedback as needed to Resource Managers to adequately staff the team for each sprint.
  • Ensure team productivity by fostering creativity, empowerment, and accountability within the team.
  • Provides issue status on all external vendor deliverables and feedback to Product owner and Vertical team leaders on vendor delivery.
Administration
  • Actively participate in the Scrum Community of Practice, recommend and approve best practices and innovations on the Pulse site.
  • Facilitate a project closure retrospective meeting at the end of each project in accord with scrum fundamentals.
  • Conduct periodic peer reviews of other Scrum Masters/Project Managers.
  • Monitor the Pulse site for Sprint Teams and ensure the team page accurately reflects the current state.

This service is being provided to all IT projects so looking for a mix of Infrastructure (Data Center, Network, End user Services, etc(, Commercial Bank, Retail Bank (ATM, Sales and Service, Teller, etc), Data Services (Data Warehouse), Financial Services (Home Loans, Auto Loans, Consumer Lending), Card, general IT Project Management experience.

SKILLS
Must have a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering, Mathematics or Statistics or applicable field, with 3+ years of Project Management experience and 2+ years of experience as Scrum Master to one or more teams. Proven and substantial experience leading complex IT development or IT technology projects (typically 6+ years) needed. A thorough knowledge of the IT development life cycle is essential. Must be proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office products: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project. Must have strong soft skills that include: strong written and verbal communications, ability to lead a team to desired outcome, experience interacting with both senior leaders as well as peers, ability to identify and negotiate solutions to address project challenges, comfortable challenging ideas and working with disparate groups to bring about consensus, able to handle ambiguity in the project without losing focus, able to perform with minimal direction. Must have exposure to Agile methodology and familiarity with Clarity or similar project portfolio management tool. Project Management Institute Certification and/or SCRUM Master certification preferred. At least 5 years of Project Management experience desired. At least 4 years as Scrum Master to one or more teams is a plus. At least 1 year People Management experience with at least 1 year providing coaching to teams on scrum fundamentals and best practices is highly preferred.
