Our Public Sector Client requires a Stakeholder & Public Affairs Officer for a 12 month fixed term contract based in Birmingham.

Scope of the Role:
- The Stakeholder and Public Affairs Officer will continue the development and delivery of an external communications strategy, focusing on the stakeholder engagement plan and events programme and providing opportunities to promote the organisation's key messages to its diverse range of stakeholders.
- They will undertake the public affairs work required to position the Client effectively to allow for future development, including influencing and negotiate with key stakeholders, opinion formers and government.

Key responsibilities:
* Support the Marketing and External Communications Manager in the development and implementation of the external communications strategy, stakeholder engagement plan and events programme
* Lead on all stakeholder engagement and development
* Relationship development and communication with MPs and other key government roles
* Manage and deliver events ranging from conferences and exhibitions to in-house and external seminars
* Secure internal and external speakers and foster collaborations with external partner organisations for events and speaking engagements, such as lectures
* Maintain systems and records including event plans, speaker lists and contact lists
* Lead on speech writing and creating presentations for those meetings and events
* Lead on co-ordinating feedback from stakeholders to inform research and policy development
* Identify the need for and assist in the development of promotional materials relevant to stakeholder audiences
* Assist the Client to contribute to wider policy debates and stay up to date and informed about developments in the legal, professional services, consumer and ombudsman sectors
* Keep abreast of industry and consumer advice developments
* Arrange and administer meetings and round tables, prepare agendas, and take notes ensuring accurate, informative and timely minutes are produced
