Link Technologies is currently seeking a QA Test Lead/Analyst for a contract assignment with a Hospitality/Gaming organization in Las Vegas, NV.

Test Lead Role

Explanation of Role

As a Test Lead (TL) you are responsible for managing the testing/quality effort for a given project.  This generally includes some of the following:

  • Owner of overall Test Plan
  • Acts as the Voice of Quality on the project
  • Manages testing logistics
  • Mentors resources on testing activities and tools
  • Liaises with the Release Owner
  • Provides timely input to the Project Leadership team for decision-making, issue resolution, and information gathering
  • Manages the Testing Team to ensure testing Entry, Exit, and Acceptance criteria are defined, approved, and met for each Testing Phase

Detailed Roles & Responsibilities

  • The test lead will be responsible for the following project documentation:
    • Weekly test status reports to the Dev Lead and Project Manager
      • These may become daily during test execution cycles
  • Detailed Test Plan documentation
  • Creation of detailed testing tasks, dates, and ownership for the project plan
  • The test lead will be responsible for leading testing efforts. This may include, but is not limited to, the following:
    • Daily testing meetings
    • Defect prioritization
    • Defect Analysis
    • Review and planning of testing scenarios/cycles
    • Tracking completion of test scripts
    • Planning detailed testing dates and dependencies
    • Facilitation of test environment set up
    • Ensuring test data is obtained
    • Responsible for testing logistics (facilities, testing lab, etc.)
    • Ensuring testing groups follow all documented standards
    • Assisting with the development of new testing standards as appropriate
    • Mentoring resources on testing activities
    • Identifying and assisting with the resolution of risks and issues associated with testing
    • Identifying conflicts and resolution ideas associated with concurrent activities
    • Tracking plan tasks (specifically related to testing) and raising any issues with slipping dates
    • Facilitates user testing sessions
    • Liaises with the Release Owner
    • Ensures necessary information is provided in a timely manner to the Project Management group for decision-making, issue resolution and information gathering.
    • Works with the Dev Lead and Project Management group to ensure timely resolution of issues and defects
    • Works with the testing team, to ensure Testing Acceptance criteria are defined and met.

Specific measurable objectives for the project assignment evaluation are:

  • Complete/Approved Test Plan document
  • Completed Verification activities as outlined in the Test Plan
  • Complete/Approved Testing Cycles as documented in the Test Plan

Requirements Analyst Role

Explanation of Role

As a Requirements Analyst (RA) you are responsible for eliciting, documenting, and obtaining approval on all of the requirements for a given project.  This generally includes some of the following:

  • Identification of the correct stakeholders
  • Work sessions and/or meetings to elicit the requirements
  • Document all project requirements using standard templates
  • Work with stakeholders to assign the correct priority
  • Work with stakeholders to receive approval on the requirements
  • Review requirements with the technical team to ensure they understand what is being requested

Detailed Roles & Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed requirements from which programmers use to write, design, code, test and debug the most complex programs.
  • Demonstrate complex problem-solving skills by defining possible technical solutions to business issues, suggestions, requests
  • Participate in functional designs and system analysis involving automated and non-automated solutions.
  • Maintain and develop relationship with clients, users and other IT. employees, company-wide. Act as a liaison between IT. and user/client areas.
  • Maintain frequent high quality communications with clients and all other affected individuals/areas of projects and support, including project meetings, project plans, financial performance, project scope and key assumptions, dates, etc.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationship with clients, vendors, users, service providers, product managers and engineering team members.
  • Lead the overall vision, planning, orchestration, and execution of all aspects of the workshop/meeting. Serve as the key stakeholder's primary point of contact for delivery of the workshop/meeting results. Can play the facilitator role during the actual running of large group sessions - including leading the interviews/discussion, sharing outputs/next steps, etc.
  • Facilitate large group requirement gathering sessions and provide strategic context for stakeholder feedback. Ensure synchronization with overall business objectives.

Specific measurable objectives for the project assignment evaluation are:

  • Complete/Approved Requirements document
  • Complete/Approved Use Case document, as needed
  • Complete/Approved mock up screens and reports, as needed
