My Client is looking for a Senior Database Developer to join their expanding team based in Central London. Salary is betweek £40-45K

The Senior Database Developer is responsible for assisting in the design, coding, implementation and maintenance of the Client's databases.

The role focuses on the development and design of database schemas and code, monitoring and improving database performance and capacity, and planning for future expansion requirements.

You will be working directly with the Database Architect, Product and Systems teams to provide new and maintain existing product features. Work closely with developers in supporting new features and services. Solve database performance bottlenecks and work closely with the application support team.
  • Degree in Computer Science or other related subject or alternatively equivalent experience
  • 2-5years MySQL database administration experience (sharding, replication, high availability) including development of stored procedures and functions.
  • Experience with Linux as a power user or administrator
  • Experience with database replication and scaling issues is a huge plus
  • Solid knowledge of SQL, relational database concepts, and web technology
  • Expert in reviewing and tuning queries
  • Experience with eventual consistency and NOSQL
  • Knowledge of best practices related to security, performance, and disaster recovery
  • Understanding of all the various MySQL storage engines? Deep understanding of InnoDBinternals and performance quirks is a big plus
