Control Optimisation Change Manager - Banking - Northampton, Teeside, Cardiff and London - Up to £450 per day

 

Purpose of programme:

Delivering commercial change for the Bank as a result of strengthening and rationalising the control environment.  This is delivered via effective business partnering, relationship management and oversight - in particularly, working closely with Control Environment Teams to exploit opportunities identified. This activity is required to support the 2013 SI programme Improving our Control Environment .

Our Client is seeking a Project manager with experience in the Risk and Cards arena. You will be responsible for:

Stakeholder/Relationship Engagement

  • Building strong relationships with Stakeholders particularly within Control and Governance.

 

Operational Risk and Control Management;

  • Facilitate risk and control assessments by documenting the key risk themes, and   

      working with Control Design and Environment Teams to implement the lowest-cost     

      ideal state solutions.

  • Identification of fastest route to implementation of commercial and control environment change, in a consistent manner. Sizing of risk and commercial exposures arising from these opportunities.
  • Support the Control Optimisation Manager in maintaining an up-to-date view of the COO risk and control profile and awareness of business activities which impact this profile. 

 

Quantification and Tracking of Commercial Change 

  • Ensure risk MI is complete, accurate and records are maintained in accordance with Group risk management policies
  • Providing tangible evidence to justify investment decisions, MI reporting to track outcomes from commercial change

Knowledge and ExpertiseEssential

  • Ability to develop relationships and influence at all levels of the organization
  • Good understanding and awareness of the financial services industry
  • In depth knowledge of internal and external risk and/or governance and control management techniques.
  • Urgency, drive and determination to maintain and evidence momentum in the operational risk agenda
  • Previous experience gained in risk and control type function (or, for example, experience gained from being responsible for control activities in an operational role). 

Technical Skills

  • Detailed knowledge of all aspects of Operational Risk framework
  • Risk and control techniques eg risk assessment, risk mitigation, risk management
  • Governance methods
  • Facilitation and influencing

Preferred

  • Knowledge of Cards and unsecured lending products
  • Knowledge of Operational Risk developments including regulation
