Mechanical Design Engineer opportunity with a well established and respected space technology organisation on a contract basis. Based in Germany Mechanical Design Engineers will be working on exciting and innovative technological projects specializing in low-orbit and geostationary small satellites.Mechanical Design Engineer Role:
* Develop different satellite configurations and the corresponding subsystem accommodation
* Coordination of the design with the project team
* Prepare the relevant configuration and accommodation drawings
* Agreement of the requirements with customers and subcontractors
* Develop and design satellite structures
* Prepare the related fabrication documents and instructions
* Prepare documentation such as design and interface descriptions
* Oversee, supervise and manage subcontractors and suppliers
* Monitoring the assembly, integration and testing work on the satellite
* Present the results of your work to the customer
Education and Experience Required:
* Degree in engineering with a major in mechanical engineering or comparable qualifications
* An established background as a design engineer ideally in the area of satellite technology
* Proficient in the use of a 3D CAD system, CATIA or Unigraphics NX
* Able to negotiate confidently with customers
* Willingness to travel
* Flexible, being able to undertake new duties and responsibilities.
* Excellent written and spoken English skills
