Description
One of the largest asset management firms in the world is seeking a Fund Reporting Manager to handle quarterly reporting and internal controls for its numerous pooled and separate account structures. The position will be primarily responsible for mutual fund and private/hedge fund financial statements, working closely with the Treasurer and President/CEO.Responsibilities:
- Manage the entire shareholder and SEC reporting process for over 50 SEC registered funds.
- Oversee the reviews of SEC filings and shareholder reports, prepared by an outside service provider, for accuracy, completeness and consistency.
- Supervise a team of financial reporting professionals, including a review of work performed for consistency, accuracy and compliance with financial statement reporting processes and procedures.
- Ensure compliance of fund financial statements with SEC reporting requirements and U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Research technical accounting and disclosure issues that may arise in connection with the review of funds' financial statements. Prepare new financial statement disclosures.
- Coordinate and oversee the documentation provided for the external audit of the funds' financial statements on an annual basis.
- Coordinate and oversee the working relations with internal departments providing data for disclosure in the funds' financial statements.
- Maintain positive working relations with outside professionals, including the fund auditors, outside custodians and other service providers.
- Pursue the continuous improvement of the financial reporting process.
- Train financial reporting team on industry updates and any rule changes.
Qualifications:
- BS in Accounting/Finance and Big 4 public accounting experience preferred. CPA required.
- 6+ years of relevant audit or financial reporting experience in the investment management industry.
- Technical proficiency of US GAAP, FASB and reporting rules specific to investment companies a plus.
- Ability to work well in and contribute to a team environment.
- Demonstrate strong leadership skills, initiative and self-motivation.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills and aptitude for detail.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Supervisory experience.
- Ability to maintain and manage relationships.
