Description
The contract is with a large consultancy in Brussels to be on an assignment at a large European site in Stockholm as follows:-
TASKS:-
The consultant shall be requested to perform various tasks related to the projects, products, applications and services developed in the organisation. The consultant will be integrated to the GIS team. He (she) will carry out tasks based on internal procedures and standards, GIS development policies and procedures regarding technology, workflows and methodologies, under supervision of the organization GIS staff. During the complete cycle of his/her assignment GIS team will have a complete access to the consultant work files (source code).
The tasks will include:
a. Supporting system development and update Enterprise GIS according to its development plan.
b. Successfully and in collaboration with the in-house GIS development resources to undertake the software development tasks assigned to him/her, that are part of the broader GIS software development activities:
c. Extending system Back End (ArcGis Server - SQL): Extend geocoding capacity to geo-names for world coverage. Contribute to design of solution and implementation solution. Explore feasibility of integrating with geo-names or other world libraries
Required Expertise:
A GIS Senior Developer,as follows:-
Education & Experience:-
1) University degree with minimum 4 years experience in IT, or non-University degree with minimum 6 years experience in IT
2) Knowledge of the following standards: Web Feature Services (WFS), Web Map Services (WMS), Shapefile
3) Proven experience in developing using Arc-Objects, within ArcGIS for SharePoint, ArcGis for Silverlight API's and with ArcGIS Server 10 technology.
4) Experience with SharePoint (MOSS 2010) and Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS)
5) Experience in agile development methods, including Test Driven Development
Required proficiency in information technologies:-
1) Programming in .NET Framework 3.5 ( VB.NET, Silverlight 4, ASP.NET, EF), Visual Studio and Microsoft SQL Server
2) Extensive experience in developing SOAP/REST web services
In addition
1) Familiarity with the EU INSPIRE directive
2) Technical documentation writing
3) Very good command of English, oral and written
