My client is an industry leading software company who supplies all the major
players in the financial industry and they are based in Dublin city centre.
They are looking to take on a Senior Linux / UNIX System Engineer to join
their service delivery team of 6. This is a 100% hands on role and as a Senior
Linux / UNIX System Engineer you will be well rounded in the following
technologies: Application server, Webserver , Linux / UNIX , Oracle database ,
Virtualisation and scripting experience.
You will be joining a team of six, in a very open and friendly environment.
You must be flexible in your working style; comfortable working closely with
your team mates, but also happy to handle things on your own- and taking ownership
of projects, which you will the see through to the end. You will be the type of
person who will bring new ideas to the table and implement these and new technologies,
with existing clients and as new clients come in.
Minimum Requirements:
- Application Server Administration
- Webserver Experience
- UNIX / Linux
- Oracle database 11g
- Virtualisation experience
- Scripting languages
The Ideal Candidate's Experience:
- Testing
- Networking
- Hardware knowledge
- SAN Storage
- Monitoring (Nagios, etc.)
You will be working in a high level, mission critical environment, within the Development
and UAT (User Acceptance Environment) environment, overseeing the operation of production
applications and infrastructure support. This is a 24X7 production environment hosted in a
Data centre facility. You will get exposure to various technologies, as you will be working
on different projects. It is a very challenging, hosted environment where you will be
ensuring the service is up and running and available 24X7.
