Safety Specialist:

Reporting to the Safety Team Leader, the role will undertake a range of health and safety duties to support the attainment of business unit safety objectives including implementation of Operational Excellence processes, compliance activities, auditing and general safety support.

Key Responsibilities:

- Work with key stakeholders to ensure that health and safety process is fully implemented.

- Undertake the role of Incident Investigation and Reporting specialist.

- Development of lessons learned and best practices information capture and communication.

- Incident analysis and reporting.

- Facilitation of Serious Consequence Incident investigations.

- Review completed incident investigations and determine appropriate root causes and actions to prevent recurrence.

- Engage with leadership and work force on general occupational safety matters.

- Provide health and safety support and guidance across the Business Unit as required.

- Participating in audits as required and ensure compliance with, the Operational Excellence Audit programme.

- If requested, represent at internal and external forums, meetings and work groups ensuring Company interest and reputation is maintained.

- Provide support/advice on procedural development and review.

Qualifications:

* Degree qualified
* Recognised Occupational Health and Safety Qualification preferably NEBOSH diploma and CPD MIOSH
* Recognised root cause analysis training (e.g. Tap Root/Kelvin Top Set)
* Experience of incident analysis and reporting
* Experience in the offshore oil and gas industry likely gained over a period of 5+ years in relation to Occupational Safety.
* Knowledge and experience in facilitation of incident investigations.
* Familiarity with regards to development of lessons learned information and best practices.
* Experience of facilitating serious Consequence Incident investigations.
* Proven track record of undertaking reviews on completed incident investigations and ability to determine appropriate root causes and actions to prevent recurrence.
* Strong organizational, planning and coordination skills.
* Strong interpersonal skills. Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
* Demonstrated ability to get work done individually and through others.
