POSITION DETAILS
GTN Technical Staffing is looking for a Cisco Network Engineer to join a client of ours on a long term contract basis. The initial contract will last at least six months and there is a high probability of extension. This role will monitor, maintain and enhance existing systems and network reporting services and associated Servers. You will be responsible for day-to-day operational support of our client's hosting production, development lab, Data Center and corporate IT networking environments. You will participate and contribute to the development and implementation of support tools and resources to enhance the local and remote support capabilities, as well as coordinate with developers, engineering and other staff members on issues related to existing system enhancements and new system implementations.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years of experience in the following skill sets
- Cisco Routers/Switches (C6500/C4900/C2900/CE Series) - Configuration/Maintenance/Troubleshooting
- OSPF & BGP Network/Routing Protocols - Configuration/Maintenance/Troubleshooting
- Load Balancers/Network Load Balancing
- Cisco IOS and CATOS - Configuration/Maintenance/Troubleshooting
- Network Firewalls/VPN/DHCP Servers - Configuration/Maintenance/Troubleshooting
- Understanding of TCP/IP/Vlan/HSRP/STP/DNS/SNMP/SMTP
- UNIX/Solaris 9/10/FreeBSD, Linux - Administration/Support
- Ability to participate in an on-call, 24x7 rotation.
PREFERRED
- Cisco Certifications - CCIE and/or CCNP
- Open Source Monitoring Tools - Nagios or Netlogger or Cacti
- Netflow Collector/Analyzer - Configuration
- Scripting - Shell or Perl or Python
