Job Title: Controls & Software Design EngineerReports to: Technical Engineering Manager
Contract length: 3 Months - with the potential for extensions
Job Purpose:
Responsible for the development and delivery of the Control, Electrical and Software design to meet key targets of time, cost, quality and SHE as defined within agreed Quotation with Customer and senior management.

? Ensure the overall design; "basis of safety" is inherent in the control electrical design
? Ensure control electrical design meets essential company and statutory design standards
? Coordinate the development and delivery of the control electrical design and documentation to meet the agreed project programme
? Ensure all engineering risks are shared with and understood by the Project Engineer
? Provide appropriate control electrical engineering support for technical assembly, installation and commissioning
? Ensure the software is in accordance with the design requirements and is successfully tested prior to any client FAT.
2. General
? Produce the Control Function Hardware Specification; P&ID; Control Schematics, etc to facilitate technical assembly, together with other key control electrical documentation
? Produce the Software Design Specification and write the software in accordance design requirements.
? Raise purchase requisitions and manage suppliers and subcontracts for services and equipment in support of the Control Electrical Design
? Liaise with project engineer and mechanical design engineer to ensure their input and support achieves a robust design
? Provide control electrical design engineering input to the various project & design review meetings
? Ensure that you remain compliant with health and safety regulations and accepted safe practice at all times. Report any health and safety issues or contraventions witnessed anywhere within the business to your manager
? Ensure the electrical design costs achieve or better gross profit budgets
? Promote standardization philosophy with designs therefore maximizing efficiency and minimizing potential risks
