Description

We are looking for a talented, hands-on UI/UX developer who can thrive in a fast-paced and brain-challenging environment. You will mambo the line between creativity and strategy – conceiving and planning overall website experiences with the marketing team and technology teams, including functionality, look and feel, and interfaces for a range of websites. Social skills and the desire to contribute vocally are a must.

Projects span many categories and technologies, predominantly open source, but also proprietary platforms, for mid-sized sites.

This role is not a predictable, 9-5, cubicle career move; it's both a technology design leadership role, as well as hands-on UI/UX, development and problem-solving role.

We'll be looking to you to help us chart what's next.

Responsibilities:
- Design the overall websites, including navigation and functional elements that lead to desired user behaviors and a positive user experience
- Design and implement the layout and user experience for application screens in standards-compliant dynamic XHTML and CSS.
- Implement UI and front-end functionality in JavaScript, CSS, HTML5 and using Ajax Frameworks.
- Strong experience with WordPress development, including server configuration and set up
- Work closely with account managers, visual designers and back-end engineers
- Rapidly fix bugs and solve problems
- Pro-actively look for ways to make our sites better
- Taking feature lists and turning them into clever and intuitive user interfaces
- Use prototyping tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and OmniGraffle
- Plan and design information architecture

Requirements:
- 5 or more years of developing rich, customer-facing web applications using - JavaScript, HTML and CSS
- Solid understanding of the full web technology stack (e.g. HTTP, cookies, headers, asset loading / caching)
- Disciplined approach to testing and quality assurance
 - An understanding of user experience activation across social media and other digital channels

Desired:
- Social media integration
- Visual design skills
- Knowledge of cross-browser quirks
- Experience designing and implementing responsive design
- Written communication and documentation abilities
