My client an international managed service company is urgently seeking an experienced Environment Manager to be responsible for environments that are to be used during the development & production (the post implementation)

The role encompasses the following components:

  • Deciding what environments are needed to support all the activities during and after development.
  • Assigning "owners" to the environments to ensure proper channels of communication and minimizing impact of any activity to that environment.
  • Deciding the lifetime for each environment.
  • Deciding the backup and recovery and other maintenance practices appropriate for those environments, with the environment owners, talking into account the maintenance tolerance's of any technical IT group and the available hardware and software to perform the task.
  • Ensuring that software is kept current with the environments.
  • Developing standard and processes for the maintenance of environments
  • Acquiring hardware and other infrastructure to ensure that the environments are operational and "fit for purpose".

Mandatory skills:

  • The ability to Lead an on & off-shore technical team
  • Strong understanding of the technical infrastructure
  • Environment capacity planning and control - working with the development teams to plan for additional environments
  • Good working knowledge of SLDC Batch operation & scheduling
