The client is one of the UK's leading renewable energy developers and operators. They are currently searching for an Offshore Cable Installation Engineer to take on a technical supportive role within the organisation. The offshore site is located off the South coast of England. It is proposed to have up to 150 wind turbine generators at the site that will be connected to an offshore substation platform(s) by buried subsea inter array cables.

Main Purpose of Job
To provide support to the Cable Package Manager on all aspects of the transport and installation of all offshore cables within the wind farm project.
To ensure that the latest technical developments in cable transportation, install, protection and termination are captured and assessed for use on the project
To ensure that cable installation is planned and executed to facilitate safe and efficient transport, installation and decommissioning
To ensure that technical risks during the transportation and installation of the offshore cables are assessed, avoided or mitigated through selection of the most appropriate vessels and equipment
To provide a continuity of technical support through the design and installation process including a presence offshore during installation to supervise contractors' works

Responsibilities
Provide support in the project for transport and installation strategy of the offshore cables and accessories This shall include vessel types, burial options, transportation and logistical concept, port requirements etc.
Lead the development of the burial protection assessment
Document requirements for the transportation, storage and installation of the offshore cables and accessories for inclusion in the invitation to tender
Assessment of tenders for the for the transport and installation (vessel capabilities, installation equipment, load out, sea fastening and other temporary works)
Provide support to associated package tenders for example the review of suitability of installation aids located on the OSP cable platform.
Produce technical documentation for invitation to tender for Marine Warranty services contract
Liaison with the engineers responsible for the design process to ensure all interfaces between supply and installation are effectively managed
Review of contractor method statements and risk assessments
Offshore and Site supervision of transportation and installation activities and equipment
Ensuring availability of necessary documentation for certification and marine warranty surveillance process
Liaison with Marine Warranty Surveyor activities

Knowledge and Skills
Extensive offshore experience with offshore cable installation, associated vessels, ROV, and diving operations.
Knowledge of rules, regulations and standards applicable to offshore transportation & installation works
Knowledge of CDM regulations
Willingness to travel and to go offshore
