E-Resourcing have an immediate requirement for a Senior QA Engineer to join a leading end user and take responsibility for the full Software lifecycle testing and quality for allocated software product/s.
Software Test Skills
*Software Testing of N-Tier architecture and/or SOA Client server software
oRequired: Specification based functional and exploratory testing
oRequired: Hands-on experience using Test automation techniques and technologies for Windows and *nix platforms
oRequired: Experience in interrogation of back end databases, SQL, Oracle
*Required: Experience in defining test plans and test cases
*Required: Experience in writing clear, reproducible defect reports
*Required: Experience in using any formal test case management and defect tracking software, e.g. Atlassian Jira
*Desired: Test Framework tools such as SoapUI, Selenium, SilkTest
*Desired: Scripting skills (preferably in Python or similar)
*Desired: Experience using Teradata databases
*Previous experience desired:
oProjects in telecom OSS
oPerformance testing techniques
oOOD techniques
oUnit test harnesses
oPlanning and running Unit tests
Soft Skills
*Collaborative team worker who can communicate with development, product and Development Manager in an Agile environment
*Preferably will have previously worked in an Agile (Scrum) environment
*Excellent communication skills
oCan communicate well and coordinate with Testing Team Lead, development and product management teams
*Creative, Inquisitive and Self-driven
*Someone who seeks a solution to complex problems
Software Environment
*Primary database provider will be Oracle 11g and Teradata
*Platform will be a mainly Windows, however cross-platform experience will be of benefit
*The Presentation Service architecture under test will be Microsoft Silverlight
*Windows applications and Services
*Business Service architecture will be SOAP using Microsoft WCF and C#
*Data Services will use Microsoft ADO and Entity Framework
Software Methodology
*Full SDLC experience and understanding of agile and waterfall models
*Practiced testing in Agile methodology, specifically SCRUM
